Sydney Russell students have been praised far and wide this week for their academic achievements and their wider contributions to sport and supporting younger students. I have shared just a few of the examples here this week – our Colin Pond award winners in Year 12 and our Sports Leaders. A former SRS student, Michael Tucker, who graduated this year with a 1st class degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, was the guest speaker at a special event for Colin Pond award winners last night. Michael spoke of the importance of independent thinking and passion in learning. He also spoke of the importance of supporting younger students to achieve and the role teachers play in this. Every day, teachers across the school are nurturing the qualities of curiosity and independence in our students. Michael is testament to the importance of our teachers and support staff, the role models they are to students and the ways in which they can inspire students to achieve their very best. So, a note of congratulations to Michael and all of our alumni for their achievements, and thanks to staff across the school who support our students to realise their potential and achieve their dreams. Have a great weekend. Mrs Cross Read the full newsletter here
